Van A Whittley is the owner and operator of Mama’s Sweets Catering born and raised in Natchez, Mississippi a small historic town. As the name indicates, Mama’s Sweets Catering pays homage to my mother who not only was my shero but the best down-home cook I know. My journey began with sifting flour for her homemade cakes. It was then I gained a love for cooking using traditional down-home methods to prepare meals filled with love, heart, and soul.

This foundation set deep in heritage and tradition led to the founding of Mama’s Sweets Catering which humbly began in 2005. We offer full service and drop-off catering, private chef services, meal prep packages and a homemade dessert for any special occasion. We have been blessed to provide services to churches, school organizations, local government officials and businesses, nonprofit organizations and many families across the Metro Detroit area. From intimate gatherings of two to large events of two hundred, Mama’s Sweets provides a personalized homemade touch focusing on thoughtfully prepared culinary delights creating a warm memorable experience for every client.
